Flextor

General Information

Effox-Flextor has installed louver dampers in some of the most critical systems in coal-fired power plants and heavy-duty industrial applications where precise flow control is required.

Louver dampers are much more precise than Butterfly dampers and are usually used where precise modulation is required. For even more precise flow control applications, opposed multi-blade louver dampers can be used.

Drive Options

Effox-Flextor has a wide range of drive options from simple shaft mounted pneumatic actuation, to heavy-duty electric and hydraulic actuation with fail safe configurations and back-up.

Blade Configurations

We have installed almost every imaginable style and type of blade design. Single louvers. Double louvers. Opposed blades. Double louver dampers with or without seal air. Tandem louvers with pressurized blades.

Effox-Flextor dampers are available with simple blades, structural blades, thermally compensating blades, and profiled blades. For applications where heat retention is necessary, blades can be insulated.

Seat Configurations

Depending on the application, seat configuration can play a major role in the operation of any damper. Effox-Flextor offers a full range of proven seat configurations including;

• Metal to metal bar seat

• Blade lip leaf seal
• High-Flex metal seat for tight shut-off - high temp
• Composite seals for tight shut-off - low temp
• Blow-off configuration for high dust loading

Stuffing Box / Bearings

Bearings make the difference. Our dampers are designed with bearings that meet the challenges of the operation, yielding high levels of efficiency and reliability.
